Okay, I don’t know about you but I feel like yesterday I was at a NYE party in my friend’s basement and all of a sudden it’s almost March. The year is literally flying by and I don’t even want to talk about my “New Year’s Resolutions” as I have barely followed or attempted to accomplish any of them. But honestly, there seems to be so much pressure to set these resolutions when the year begins but do you even know people who talk about their resolutions 2 months later? Maybe I’m just making excuses.
If you’re feeling like me in any way, shape or form… Let’s talk about it. Next weekend is a long weekend, meaning you probably have work or school off on Monday. I’ve decided that this is the perfect time for all of us to finally get our shit together and catch up on the new year.
You promised yourself that you were going to eat healthier this year? Spend your President's Day cooking delicious meals that you can enjoy throughout the week. You said you were going to keep your house cleaner and your room more organized? Spend your President's Day organizing your room and getting rid of things you no longer need.
I know how tempting it might seem to see this “day off” and want to go out with friends or maybe lay in bed and binge-watch Netflix, but this is actually the perfect time to get your life back in order and catch up with the new year. The next time you’re going to have a long weekend probably won’t be til spring break and you DEFINITELY are not going to want to deal with this crap when that time comes around.
This is your sign to clean your room, meal prep that lunch, catch up on homework, run those errands or take care of any of the “small things” that you’ve been pushing off for weeks. It’s so easy to get lost in the heat of the year and next thing you know it’s almost summer and you’re behind on everything you need to get done in 2024.
The best advice I can give you is the “10 Minutes A Day Rule”. It sounds dumb but I promise you it’ll change your life. Take 10 minutes out of every single day to catch up on the little things. Take 10 minutes to meal prep for tomorrow. Take 10 minutes to clean your room or organize your purse/backpack/car. Maybe you just want to take 10 minutes a day to journal. Whatever it may be that you need to do to stay on track for 2024, take 10 minutes a day to do it. It’s worth a whole lot more than spending 10 hours on that one Sunday.
I know it seems like time is flying by and you might be dealing with a lot of stress or anxiety, but taking those 10 minutes each day will ease all of those problems. Take a step back, take a deep breath and just focus on what you can control. MUUZ is always here for you and wish you all the best in your goals for 2024.
