Hey! It’s totally okay if you’ve been feeling unmotivated, tired, or just frustrated lately. The seasons are changing, and with that comes a whole bunch of adjustments, like dealing with colder weather, starting a new school year, or kicking off a new job.But guess what? It’s also the perfect time for a reset. We’ve still got almost three months until 2024 wraps up, and that’s more than enough time to revisit those New Year’s resolutions and tackle the ones that still matter to you (and that you can realistically achieve in three months).

For example, when I made my New Year’s resolutions, I promised myself I’d start meditating to manage stress. But, let’s be real, I’ve probably meditated five times all year. I kept telling myself it was because I didn’t have time, but the truth is, I just didn’t make time for it.

I know, I know, it’s not that easy. If it were, we’d all be crushing our goals, right? Sometimes it feels like we’re stuck in a rut. We’re excited about an idea, but for some reason, we just can't

get ourselves to do it. And the most frustrating part? The only thing standing in our way is ourselves.

So, whenever I feel like I’m not relaxing but just rotting in bed, endlessly scrolling TikTok, I whip out a little list of things that help me snap out of it. This is what works for me, but the key is finding what works for you to feel better and actually achieve what you set out to do.

Let me share my go-to 1-day method. It’s easy, effective, and leaves me feeling motivated and in control. I’ll use my meditation goal as an example!

Plan it Out

First, I grab my planner (I’m obsessed with The Productivity Method planner, it’s the best for planning freaks like me), and I write down what I want to accomplish. In this case, meditate.

Treat Yourself

To make the whole process feel like a treat, I make myself a matcha (Chamberlain Coffee matcha is chef’s kiss). Then, I grab a piece of paper and write down the action steps I need to take. For me, the problem was not making time to meditate, so I added it to my daily routine: every time I brush my teeth, I meditate for two minutes. This way, I won’t forget, and it’s easier to stick to!

Self-Care Time

After I’ve planned everything out, I do something that instantly lifts my mood, an everything shower. And to make it extra cozy, I light my favorite fall candle, Bath & Body Works’ Pumpkin Vanilla Crème. It smells just like fall, and I’m obsessed.

Cozy Vibes

The last (and best) step: I throw on my comfiest sweats (we all have that one pair) and curl up with a good book. Right now, I’m deep into Cleopatra & Frankenstein, and OMG, it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s emotional, real, and intense, seriously, it’ll make you laugh, cry, and wish it never ends. I’m almost done, and I’m already sad about it. (If you don’t want to read, you can always watch Gilmore Girls, best fall show ever!)

So yeah, this is my little routine to get out of a rut and stop self-sabotaging. It’s okay to feel tired, unmotivated, or burnt out. But let’s be honest, sometimes we take it so far that we don’t know how to snap out of it. So just remember that you’re capable of achieving whatever you put your mind to. Make a list, create a plan, and go after it. But always put your body and mind first. Take care of yourself, and go be the badass you’re meant to be!

To add, here are two articles that are going to help you take care of yourself and feel better this fall.
