Fall is here and I feel like this season doesn’t get as much love as it should. Although we all love Summertime and Christmas, Fall can be special too. Making a point to appreciate the transition of seasons, the crisp smell of colder air, and the introduction of sweater season are just some of the ways we can learn to love the season of Fall.
Eat Your Favorite Fall Foods
The first thing I do when Fall comes around is look forward to the new snacks, meals, and baked goods that Trader Joe’s released. Perhaps inspired by the success of Starbucks’ pumpkin latte, they do a magical job of turning every normal food into a Fall flavored food in the best way possible. Cooking with your friends and celebrating the pumpkin, cinnamon and apple-flavored foods is a good way to distract yourself from whatever you have going on and do something to get you into the spirit of the season.
Shop For Your Fall Wardrobe
Who doesn’t love shopping, and it doesn’t get better than shopping for Fall. The Pheloung twins, Danielle and Brigette have some of the best pieces for fall and I cannot recommend their pages more. Add fall pieces like cardigans, heeled boots, and longer coats to your wardrobe. Fall is a great time to mix up your style and start layering and incorporating fall colors, plaids, and flannels. Treat yourself and pick out some new pieces to enjoy during this season.
Get Cozy
Get cozy!! Take an everything shower, pull out some blankets, put on a Fall feeling movie (my favorite for this time of year is Harry Potter or Gilmore Girls if you are more of a TV show person), get a new candle from Anthropologie, “Cashmere Sweater” is the best, and enjoy your alone time. If you have been sweating through the summer, look forward to the season where you can be comfortable in a hoodie or wrapped up in a throw blanket when the nights turn cooler and darker.
Try a Seasonal Coffee
Going to a new coffee shop is always a fun activity, but especially during this time of year because they usually have all of their Fall drinks out. Expand your horizons from Starbucks pumpkin cream cold foam and try something new around you - perhaps while out on a Saturday afternoon drive to see the leaves change. Or, better yet, make your own Fall latte at home with fall flavors such as maple or caramel.
Clean and Decorate Your Environment
As a new time of the year comes around, I love to clean and give myself a refreshed space. Deep clean your room, reorganize your closet, and pull out your fall decorations. A couple of throw pillows or blankets can really warm up your space and help you love this time of life even more. Fall isn’t fall without a pumpkin or apple-scented room spray or candle to burn so delight your senses with all the flavors, scents and feels of fall before the trees turn bare and winter is upon us.
